guide blades may be profiled and shimmed as needed.
electrical noise reduction devices (capacitors and inductors) may be removed.
screws, setscrews, spacers, and shims may be added or replaced using any manufacture’s parts.
shims may be used between pods, chassis, and bodies to adjust chassis tweak and body clearances.
no traction magnets (unless otherwise noted) o typically rear tires are replaced with silicone tires.
cars may be tuned for body float.
correct size and style wheels and wheel inserts are preferred, however not required
axle bushings may be glued in place.
classes utilizing factory stock front axles and plastic wheels may have their axles trimmed and/or shims utilized to reduce side play.
stock plastic wheels may be lightly sanded for the purposes of truing and glue may be used to repair loose or attach plastic wheels (front and rear).
*** foam rings may be used as inner liners (fillers) on “air” type wheels.
split and cracked body posts may be repaired by reinforcement through the use of styrene, aluminum, brass or similar tubing and the use of glue over the damaged post as long as the post’s original height is not altered.
any manufactures’ silicon tire used on the rear wheels are permitted for “Championship Rules” Class races (excepting actual Championship or series related races), however the tires used must match and be the equivalent in the size range (rim size fit, diameter, and width) to those listed in the current published “Championship Rules”.
Bodies/Chassis/Pods may not be modified in any manner other than the minor removal of material to allow for normal fit and clearance to allow for float, and/or for the repair of race damage.
motors should remain factory stock and not be changed or modified in any manner, however it is permitted to trim the motor shaft(s) length(s) to clear tires and bodywork.
when mounting motors in a motor pod or chassis using the existing factory provided screw holes in the pod and the motor with the appropriate mounting screws, the motor must be mounted no lower than flush with the bottom of the motor pod.
*** Tape may be used to limit and dampen the movement of motor pods, however must meet the minimum chassis/pod/motor assembly clearance specifications
when mounting a motor in a motor pod or chassis that does not have pre-existing factory screw holes, and/or where the motor does not have factory pre-existing tapped screw holes to support securing the motor using screws, the motor may only be secured with tape and/or glue and the motor must be mounted no lower than flush with the bottom of the motor pod.
front tires may be both glued and trued, and may not exceed past the body at any point excepting Formula class cars and where otherwise prototypical.
rear wheels and tires may not exceed past the body at any point by more than .5mm (.020”) excepting Formula class cars and where otherwise prototypical.
Formula 1 (open wheel) type and size wheels and tires may only be utilized on cars where provided factory stock or where prototypically correct.
cars must clear a minimum of .040” between the track surface and the bottom of the chassis/pod/motor assembly, and a minimum of .032” between the track surface and the bottom of the anglewinder/sidewinder spur/inline crown gear.
*** Cars in the race classes that require the use of factory stock plastic parts such as wings, wheels, etc. that are damaged may be replaced with either a factory, 3 party, or 3D printed replacement part of equivalent size, shape, and functionality
We have added and are experimenting with a new specification to our rules so as to better maintain equality between the cars being raced – “Motor Downforce”. The measurement in grams is typically the additional downforce provided to the car by the attraction of the motor and only the motor magnets to the track metal pickup rails, is measured using a “Magnet Marshal” or equivalent device, will vary depending upon the cars and motors being raced, and may not be supplemented with any additional magnetic downforce materials. Cars will be tested before and after their last heat race.
Tech Inspection: All cars may at the driver’s option and request be pre-checked for the following of the published race rules and possible infractions. The driver will be advised on issues that require correction, with the tech inspector’s and/or track owner’s option to grant “one-time” wavers to the infraction as long as there is no performance advantage gained. The top 4 placed race positioned cars will be inspected, with any rule infractions not granter prior wavers leading to the possible disqualification of the driver/car. It is the driver’s responsibility to make sure and confirm that all rule requirements are followed and met.
All “WNR club” and “Championship” based rules are fluid and may be updated to allow for future unidentified issues.
On occasion, “Club” or “Championship” rules based events may be modified in such a manner so as to create special one off events.
if a modification is not specifically allowed for, it will not be permitted.
