Policar Classic F1

General – Formula cars patterned after those raced in the Formula 1 World Championship in the early 1970’s.

This page is for the BOX STOCK CLASS RULES

Further classes (super-stock) may open up at a later time.

A list of all current and discontinued Policar F1 Classics is available here for review.

Build rules – This is meant to be a box-stock class with the only allowable changes being the addition of Silicone tires, braid, gearing adjustments, weight adjustments,  pod tuning and truing/gluing of wheels and tires only to stock configured cars.

Motors - Only the standard stock 25 motor, parts PMX01 or PMX01-k (knurled shaft) are allowed. There is a motor mount for flat-6 motors that is not legal for the box stock class.

Tires - This list will be modified as more compatible brands/models are identified.

Currently Super Tires (ST1404 narrow & ST1423 wide) tires have worked well.

Gearing - The stock gearing for all models above consists of a 9-tooth motor pinion driving a combined 25/16-tooth idler gear (bevel spur), which in turn drives a 17-tooth bevel crown gear on the rear axle. No changes should be made to the car’s stock gearing for the box-stock class.

Magnetic Downforce - No magnets are allowed for this class, and motor downforce should be limited to 10g total.
